We contacted CTP Pest & Building Inspections for a building and pest inspection on an older property in the Hunter Valley. With an older house, we wanted to make sure we understood the condition of the building before going ahead with the purchase.
The inspector was knowledgeable, professional and easy to deal with. They looked through the accessible areas of the property and explained the types of issues that can occur with an older home, including general deterioration, moisture-related concerns and timber pest risks.
The written report was one of the biggest positives for us. It was detailed without being impossible to understand, and we could go back through it afterwards when discussing the property with our family and solicitor.
We were particularly pleased that the inspector didn’t simply make dramatic statements about every issue they found. Instead, the information was presented professionally, with appropriate recommendations to seek specialist advice where something was outside the scope of a visual building inspection.
For anyone buying an older home in the Hunter Valley, we would strongly recommend arranging a professional building and pest inspection before purchasing. CTP provided us with the information we needed to make a much more informed decision.
